St. George Island is a
barrier island off the coast of Florida's Panhandle that is linked to
Apalachicola by a bridge. Many tourists come to relax and get away from the
crowds on the 22-mile island, which is free of high rises and overdevelopment.
The island's main attractions are outdoor sports like kayaking and fishing, but
there are other attractions only a short drive away. Regarding accommodation,
you can always rely on Beach View Vacation Homes in
St. George Island. They are filled with modern amenities and designed
to give a homely feeling away from home.
With miles of uncrowded
beaches for sunning and shelling, open Gulf waters for swimming and fishing,
and pristine marshes for wildlife watching, St. George Island is regularly
rated as one of the best beaches in the United States.
Low-density zoning and
stringent building codes shield St. George Island. As a result, St. George
Island is a peaceful beach town devoid of high-rise buildings or chain stores.
Visitors may stay in one of the two island hotels or inns, or rent a cozy beach
cottage or a St. George Island Family Vacation Homes

The city of Apalachicola
was founded in the 1830s, and there are now over 900 buildings on the National
Historic Register in the city. Visit well-preserved Victorian homes, cotton
factories, and a sponge market on a walking tour of the historic district. The
Apalachicola Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center on Commerce Street has a
free map of the district for a self-guided tour. Grady Market
(gradymarket.com), one of the tour's stops, offers a one-of-a-kind shopping
experience. The market, which is housed in the historic Grady Building in
downtown Apalachicola, has over a dozen antique shops as well as art galleries
and boutiques.
